Fun premise that could iron out some wrinkles for season 2

Review

The idea of a hero that gets their powers from the amount of cash they have on hand that then is spent as they do their heroic deeds is one of the most fun premises I have seen. It works even better in practice than imagined it would. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and am strongly looking forward to season 2.

The above average score comes in from thinking the showed played it too safe at points while leaning into tropes too often used. The first seasons of shows do often have them figuring themselves out and that was apparent in this first season. However, the conclusion and setup for the second season makes me believe they will get their footing and fully deliver on the potential of this superpower.

The acting did greatly help overall. I felt the characters were believable and behaved in logical ways with how they were setup. I would have liked a few more interactions and scenes from a few of them, but without getting into spoilers, nothing was too egregious.

Closing / Recommendation

Superhero shows, Korean dramas, and Korean superhero dramas do have strong competition lately. I you enjoy any of those genres, you should check Cashero out. It is on Netflix with the second season seemingly set to be this December. That means the wait for the second season is shorter than what is typical for streaming shows. It something I fully expect to pass the quality of the first season and live up to the lofty expectations I have for such a fun idea for a superhero.
